Add ThaiEar to your phone for free and keep learning Thai offline — download whole topics and playlists, then listen and take the quizzes with no internet, on the train, on a flight, or off-grid. There’s a way in for both Android and iPhone below.

Offline downloads
You’ve added ThaiEar to your Home Screen — nice one. Switch this on to save topics and listen with no internet.
Take to the skies
ThaiEar for Android — now on Google Play
ThaiEar for Android is on the Play Store. Install it and keep learning offline — download whole topics and playlists, listen and quiz yourself with no internet, with lock-screen controls and background playback.
Prefer to install directly, without the Play Store? There’s a direct download at the bottom of this page.
Listen offline on iPhone & iPad
On iPhone you don’t need to install anything to listen offline. Add ThaiEar to your Home Screen straight from Safari, and you can download whole topics and playlists and take their quizzes with no internet. It’s free and takes about a minute.
Open thaiear.com in Safari.
This only works in Safari — not Chrome or another browser.
Tap the Share button
— the square with an arrow pointing up. It’s at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone, or the top on an iPad.
Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
Leave Open as web app switched on — it usually is already.
This is the important one: it’s what lets ThaiEar open full-screen and work offline. If you turn it off, it just opens as a Safari bookmark and offline downloads won’t be available.
Tap Add in the top corner. The ThaiEar icon now sits on your Home Screen.
Open ThaiEar from your Home Screen — it opens full-screen, ready to go.
Then turn on offline downloads
Do this once, from the ThaiEar you just added to your Home Screen:
Open ThaiEar from your Home Screen, tap the menu (top-right) and choose ThaiEar App to come back to this page.
Switch on Offline downloads in the box at the top of the page.
That box only appears when you’ve opened ThaiEar from your Home Screen — so if you can’t see it, you’re still in Safari.
Open any topic or playlist and tap Download for offline.
The topic’s quizzes come down with the audio — no separate download.
Downloaded topics play with no internet — even in airplane mode. On iPhone these are kept in the app’s own storage; if your phone runs very low on space, iOS may clear them, and you can simply reconnect and tap Download again.
Prefer a direct download?
You can also install ThaiEar for Android directly, without the Play Store — handy on phones without Google services. Your phone will show a security warning when you install it — that’s completely normal for any app installed this way. Here’s how:
When it finishes, open the file. Android will ask to allow installs from your browser — tap Settings → Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install.
If you see “Unsafe app blocked” or a Play Protect prompt, tap More details → Install anyway.
Open ThaiEar and sign in as normal.
You stay in control — you can switch that “allow” permission back off afterwards.
Everything works in your browser today — the app adds offline listening, offline quizzes and lock-screen playback.
