Thai geography: Local character & change
Talk about city and country in Thai. This third part weighs กรุงเทพฯ against the บ้านนอก (upcountry) — green space, ความเจริญ (development), what each province is ขึ้นชื่อ (famous for), from สวนยาง (rubber plantations) to ผ้าไหม (silk) and the old capital อยุธยา (Ayutthaya) — plus น้ำท่วม (floods), the deep south's ศาสนาอิสลาม (Islam), มัสยิด (mosques) and ภาษามลายู (Malay), and Thailand's great เมืองท่องเที่ยว (tourist cities). All 16 sentences are recorded by native speakers and come with English translations and word-by-word notes, so the regional character sticks by ear.
